So I'm reading an article in my magazine that I've decided I have to share with you. What would you guess is the number one killer of women? Go on guess?? Got an idea...? Well I guessed cancer (I recently read that lung cancer worldwide is becoming a leading killer because so many people are smoking). If you thought what I did you would be wrong. It is actually...heart disease. Yes heart disease kills more women every single year than any thing else and yes you can be diagnosed between 25-34.
Don't lose hope! There are lots one can do to help their risk factors. Genetics does play a role especially on your mother's side but at least I have genetics going for me. Smoking greatly increases your risk...again I have that going for me since I have never smoked and don't intend to start. Third...being overweight. The good news is I can do something about that factor! Its important to be active at least 4-5 days a week.
I truly believe it was important to share this information with you. If you feel that you might be at risk please consult your doctor and be willing to make some changes to you lifestyle. This type of information makes me feel good about what I am trying to do with my life.
